Dentures and Partials
Partial dentures are used when you have lost most but not all of your teeth in your upper and lower jaw. If you still have one or more of your natural teeth, you will receive an appliance that contains replacement teeth attached to a pink or gun colored base. Dentures are removable dental appliances that are used to replace when you have lost all your teeth in your upper or lower jaw.
There are two types of dentures, conventional full dentures or immediate full dentures.
Conventional Full Dentures: When all your teeth are removed and your gums are given time to heal in which time you would be without teeth.
Immediate Full Dentures: Before having your teeth removed, you will be fitted for dentures and after the teeth are removed, you are given the dentures right away. You will not have to wait and be without teeth however, you will have to come back to get them readjusted if they become too loose.
Dentures can help to give your face a fuller appearance, improves your ability to chew, and they can be removed for a proper cleaning and brushing.
